Liverpool won the Champions League Final 3-2 on penalties after a breathtaking comeback to level the tie at 3-3 in ordinary time. The fightback started in the 54th minute when a cross by John Arne Riise was nodded in by captain Steven Gerrard, leaving goalkeeper Dida with no chance.
